Position Purpose

Job Description Details:

According to established protocols, conducts clinical assessment of the patients health care status and needs and provides patient care to facilitate desired patient outcomes.

Job Requirements:

  • Under the direction of the physician provides professional care in patient care areas.

  • Assist with consultation and follow-up on a routine and structured basis.

  • Assists with medical decision making, data gathering, order entry, timely documentation and in transition of care.

  • Assists with reassessments, acute visits, clinics, test monitoring, patient follow up and medical management.

  • Functions as a role model for all staff members

Experience, Skills &Education:

Completion of a program that is approved by the Florida Board of Medicine and national certification (NCCPA)

Two years of relevant experience in a program equivalent to that offered by Holy Cross Hospital

Compassion and understanding with patients consistent with Holy Cross Standard of Excellence principles

Maintain continuing education relative to practice

Maintain competence as a Physician Assistant

Licensure/Certification:

  • Physician Assistant Licensure in the state of Florida
  • BLS/ACLS certification
