NP/PA OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE ##PRE SURGICAL ASSESSMENT JOIN THE HEALTHCARE TEAM AT#BERKSHIRE HEALTH SYSTEMS! Berkshire Health Systems is seeking an# per diem NP/PA to join the Surgical Services team.

####The Pre Surgical Assessment NP

/PA will conduct preoperative health assessments and preanesthesia screening for selected Surgical Services patients.

####Patients may be referred to the Advanced Practice Provider either by the PSA staff or BMC surgeons and may include either patients who do not have a Primary Care physician or those who cannot be seen by their PCP in a timely fashion prior to surgery

. The pre Surgical Assessment NP/PA coordinates a patient#s preoperative care.

####Responsibilities include taking a complete preoperative health history

, conducting a comprehensive physical exam and counseling and educating patients and their family members about the upcoming surgical procedure, including pre- and postoperative care.

####The PSA NP

/PA works closely with the PSA staff and the Medical Director of the OR to ensure that patients are ready for surgery and that all PSA requirements are in the patient#s medical record.
