Job duties

  • Three days per week, evaluates up to 16 scheduled patients in an outpatient clinic setting providing primary care medical services. Two days per week, telecommutes providing medical care in a virtual setting for mostly urgent medical issues for patients located in Chicago, Boston, and New York.

    Takes full medical history, performs physical examination, orders lab tests and diagnostic studies, interprets test results, provides medical diagnosis, recommends treatment including prescribing of medication and performing medical procedures, either in person (i.e. clinic) or virtually (i.e. video visits, phone consultations, and messaging via our mobile platform). Also in a virtual setting, triages patients, directing them to clinic visit, specialist consult, urgent care, or emergency room as appropriate. Manages complex medical conditions in conjunction with supervising physician and/or specialist medical provider when appropriate. With supervising physician: regular informal daily interaction, recurring formal monthly meetings, and quarterly formal collaborative meetings that are documented and monitored by companys credentialing department.

Education and Experience

  • Masters in Physician Assistant studies, Medical Sciences, or closely related and 1 year in primary care as a physician assistant

Special Requirements

  • Work experience above must include team-based care in an outpatient or hospital setting, including working with providers of various clinical license types (i.e. MD, RN, etc.) and best practices in documentation for team-based care.

    National certification from the NCCPA. Valid Physician Assistant license in Illinois.
