Job Description:

This is a full-time, permanent, classified position which is represented by a union. This recruitment may be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current or future vacancies.

What will you do?

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon State Hospital(OSH), program in Salem, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for a Physical Electronic Security Technician 3. The purpose of this position is to perform skilled work in the Electronics and Security trade, such as install and maintain closed circuit TV systems and various types of electronic security equipment. The Physical/Electronic Security Technician 3 position also has assignments of new electronic installations, trouble shooting, maintenance and other duties allowed by the possession of a Journeyman Limited Energy Class 'A' Electrical License. The Operations staffs are the primary source and support for the agency as employees work to achieve the agency's mission through more efficient use of employees and physical resources.

Special Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of a current Journeyman Limited Energy, Class A (LEA) electrical license or appropriate electrical license for work assigned issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division AND six (6) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.

Desired Attributes:

  • Must be able to work around energized electrical equipment.

  • Must be able to operate power tools and boom truck.

  • Experience administering functions of the access control system application software, such as inputting users, access levels, permissions, and scheduling doors.

  • Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications for equipment to ensure adherence to life safety standards, building codes and industry standards.

  • Experience installing, maintaining, modifying, or repairing hardware components of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.

Working Conditions:

The employee works in a secure environment in contact and/or work with patients and on a daily basis. Employee may be required to work hours subject to change with little notice. May be required to work hours that exceed the regular schedule, i.e., work a double shift or a different shift in addition to regular schedule. This position often must work outside in inclement weather, work from ladders and scaffold, lift and carry heavy objects, work in unsanitary conditions and work independently.
