Round Rock clinic!

Summary:
The Technician performs routine tasks in assisting the licensed physical therapists/assistants in maintenance of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies. He or she helps with patient preparation, exercise and treatment to ensure efficient flow of the schedule and reduces waiting time of the patients. General requirements are to work with positive patient interaction, excellent communication skills, and positive energy. The technician must be able to multi-task and problem solve, possess excellent customer service skills, and be willing to go above and beyond to take care of the customers needs.

Hours:

Flexible part-time hours between:

  • Monday 7am-7pm
  • Tuesday 7am-7pm
  • Wednesday 7am-7pm
  • Thursday 7am-7pm
  • Friday 7am-4pm
  • Saturday 8am-12pm

Pay:

$8-10/hr based on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following:

  • Positive, friendly, and professional interactions with patients.
  • Ability to interact with patients and engage them.
  • Attention to detail with all patient and clinic duties.

  • Handle stressful situations with a positive attitude.
  • Prepares equipment and treatment areas for patients.
  • Cleans treatment areas, keeps gym clean and items off the floor.
  • Prepares patients for treatment, assisting with transfers and transportation as needed.
  • Assures adequate linen and supplies in room.
  • Assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment and clinic.
  • Performs general cleaning duties in the facility.
  • Routinely inventories equipment and supplies and notifies the Office Manager of items to order.
  • Efficient patient set up with modalities to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Completes opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Background in health/wellness or personal training preferred. Pre-physical therapy or allied health degree tract preferred.

Language

Skills:
Reading and Interpreting in English: Must be able to read and understand basic written materials, such as work orders, labels, signs and simple written instructions. Mathematics: Must use basic addition and subtraction in performance of the job.

Working Conditions: Regular exposure to disagreeable tasks or conditions which create physical and/or mental stress or discomfort, such as heavy lifting, standing and bending.

Communication: Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work with patients. Must be highly motivated and positive individual who can work with all types of people. Bilingual preferred but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and according to professional standards, the Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and executes patient's treatment program. Coordinates with the team, patient, and family to develop a goal directed program. Must maintain accurate records of services provided. Responsible for following departmental procedures, maintaining professional standards, and seeking professional growth. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Plans and coordinates treatment program and discharge plans: * Plans and executes patient treatment plan safely and effectively to achieve set goals. * Maintains standards for treatment procedures and professional ethics established by the TPTA and APTA and TBPTE. Is knowledgeable and competent in advanced treatment techniques. * Directs Techs and Students' treatments according to departmental policies and formally evaluates student performance during the affiliation as required by academic institution. * Executes treatments and adjusts treatment time based on diagnosis and patient need. Able to perform treatment load as outlined by the program/ departmental standards. * Demonstrates ability to modify therapeutic interventions as patient's abilities/skills changes in order to meet goals. The interventions are appropriate to the patient's age, developmental age, educational needs, and family/guardian expectations as related to the diagnosis (high risk/high volume). * Responds to acute changes in patient's status and modifies treatment techniques as indicated (high risk/high volume). * Leaves adequate treatment information for care of patient for anticipated absences according to departmental policies and procedures. Documents services provided: * Performs patient evaluation upon receipt of physician's orders. * Completes thorough evaluations in accordance with guidelines stated in program policies and procedures. * Follows standard professional procedures for assessments. * Follows departmental policies and procedures for documenting patient progress. * Completes daily charges and treatment records according to departmental policies/procedures. * Initiates incident reports and reviews with supervisor according to policies/procedures.
