We are a growing company with over 30 clinics across Texas! We have multiple part-time physical therapy technician positions available at multiple of our Austin region clinics.

Summary:
The Technician performs routine tasks in assisting the licensed physical therapists/assistants in maintenance of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies. He or she helps with patient preparation, exercise and treatment to ensure efficient flow of the schedule and reduces waiting time of the patients. General requirements are to work with positive patient interaction, excellent communication skills, and positive energy. The technician must be able to multi-task and problem solve, possess excellent customer service skills, and be willing to go above and beyond to take care of the customers needs.

Pay:

$8-11/hr based on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following:

  • Positive, friendly, and professional interactions with patients.

  • Prepares equipment and treatment areas for patients.
  • Cleans treatment areas, keeps gym clean and items off the floor.
  • Prepares patients for treatment, assisting with transfers and transportation as needed.
  • Assures adequate linen and supplies in room.
  • Assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment and clinic.
  • Performs general cleaning duties in the facility.
  • Routinely inventories equipment and supplies and notifies the Office Manager of items to order.
  • Efficient patient set up with modalities to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Completes opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Pre-physical therapy or allied health degree tract required.

Language

Skills:
Reading and Interpreting in English: Must be able to read and understand basic written materials, such as work orders, labels, signs and simple written instructions. Mathematics: Must use basic addition and subtraction in performance of the job.

Working Conditions: Regular exposure to disagreeable tasks or conditions which create physical and/or mental stress or discomfort, such as heavy lifting, standing and bending.

Communication: Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work with patients. Must be highly motivated and positive individual who can work with all types of people.

RTT's work in a variety of setting including activity centers, recreation programs, and vocational/day programming centers, based on the needs of the State Supported Living Center (SSLC). The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) performs routine habilitative and rehabilitative therapy work. Primary responsibilities include helping the habilitation/rehabilitation supervisor provide assistance to individuals for an assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., supported employment job coaching and/or vocational rehabilitation and vocational/day program). Work involves assisting with services as directed by implementing treatment plans for assigned therapeutic specialty. A May accompany individuals to and from activities and appointment. Performs housekeeping duties in therapeutic activity areas. Valid driver's license and ability to drive a state vehicle may be required, depending on the needs of the facility. Works under moderate supervision of the designated supervisor with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Prepares materials for assessments using the data from prior assessments, and assists in conducting assessments as directed. Accompanies individuals to and from activities and appointments, if required. Prepares materials for therapeutic activities and maintains an adequate supply of materials. Performs housekeeping duties in therapeutic activity areas as instructed, Provides assistance to individuals for an assigned therapeutic specialty, (e.g., supported employment job coaching and/or vocational rehabilitation and vocational/day program) through hands-on methods. Performs direct contact observations and completes observation notes. Collects data related to treatment plans as instructed. Provides feedback to the interdisciplinary team about the individual's progress, works with Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to maintain a connection and assists with the development of treatment plans for the assigned discipline. Provides treatment goals that are feasible for the team to implement that are also in the best interest of the individual. Maintains current skills in relation to assigned responsibilities. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Knowledge Skills Abilities: * Some knowledge, or ability to gain knowledge, of relevant therapeutic techniques. * Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. * Experience in, or ability to gain experience in, the use of equipment, tools, and materials used in therapeutic activities. * Ability to assist in development of treatment and support plans. * Ability to collect data for assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation). * Ability to utilize personal computers and relevant software. * General knowledge of, or ability to gain knowledge of, ICF-IID regulations and State Supported Living Center policies and procedures. * Ability to meet the same physical requirements as those for direct contact staff positions. * Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others. Registration or Licensure Requirements: No registrations,License or certification required.
