Scheduling Coordinator- Physical Therapy

To assist the Outpatient Rehab staff with clerical dutiesand scheduling of Outpatient cases. Routine contacts include patients,physicians, hospital staff, outside health agencies, and the community.
Responsible for making sure the schedule runs smoothly and addresses issuesrelated to this by ensuring appointments are scheduled appropriately withoutconflicts.
Verify and enter data such asdemographics, insurance information into computerized scheduling and billingsystem with each encounter with patient.
Obtain insurance referrals andauthorization prior to patient's appointment. Collect patient co-payment andgenerate patient receipt.
Accuratelytranscribe physician orders and complete the admission medical recordprocess.
Runs daily and monthly Meditech reports and any reportsrequested.
Works with Director and
Manager to coordinate quarterly office meetings with physician office staff, coordinates anyfollow up work out of those meetings.

in department77423 Physical Therapy Outpatient provides care to pediatric, 13
years of age;adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult
patients between 18 to64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
Education: High school Diploma or GED
Five (5) years clerical, computer experience and medical terminology required. Previous experience scheduling and obtaining insurance authorizations preferred.
Excellent customer service and attention to detail required.
Good telephone and communication skills a must.
