Graduate of approved Physical Therapy Assistant program

Regional One Health is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant who will under supervision of Physical Therapist, perform treatments and provide exercise instruction and demonstration for patients in accordance with established polices and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved program for Physical Therapy Assistant. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient as specialty assignment dictates.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in patient care as obtained through completion of a Physical Therapy Assistant program.

An ability and willingness to apply knowledge and skills and maintain clinical competency as required in treating acute and rehabilitative patients. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with patients' growth and development needs and the ability to counsel and comfort patients and families regarding procedure performed. An ability to manage a sometimes chaotic work environment related to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes.

Demonstrates skill in the use of applicable equipment; mature judgment and initiative required; shows professional interest through self-development, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations; presents a positive attitude and professional appearance. Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively with others; ability to react and perform under stress in emergency situations; ability to effectively record and reflect observations; ability to exercise analytical judgment on work to be done.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Licensed to work as Physical Therapy Assistant in state of TN. Current CPR certification required.

Specific responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor include: * Overseeing the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department to include staff interviews, employment decision, orientation, performance evaluations, employee training and development, as well as inventory, equipment, and instrument issues. * Sharing responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment and retention * Steering Progressive clinical excellence through staff development * Implementing company standards of care, policies, and procedures * Creating and maintaining clinical schedule for safe staffing * Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions * Maintaining open and ongoing communication with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure patient, staff, and facility needs are met. * Promoting flexibility, team building and engagement to promote an efficient and positive work environment. * Coordinating and actively participating in Wean Team/Pulmonary Rounds and maintains a direct line of communication with all pulmonary physicians in order to facilitate/implement, and routinely monitor weaning patients from mechanical ventilation; if protocols do not exist, works toward implementation at the location. * Responsibility for the 24 hour operations of the respiratory therapy department * Clinical cost control * Competence in Rapid Response and code events * Possibly some Safety Officer responsibilities * Promoting continuous quality improvement * Teaching and counseling patients/families * Functioning as the Safety Officer in maintaining regulatory compliance regarding all aspects of the environment of care Qualifications As a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you must be able to deliver superior quality in all that you do.
