Physical Therapy Assistant (Pta) Lab Assistant

Position Title Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Lab Assistant Department Physical Therapy Assistant Program Appointment Term Academic Year (August - May) FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary

This position supports the day-to-day function of the PTA lab and assists PTA program faculty in the preparation for and clean-up from lab activities.

Essential Duties

• Preparing in advance for the lab period.

• Assist instructor in setting up lab according to information provided by course instructor.

• Promote safety in the lab. Be alert to potential unsafe behaviors, practices, set-ups, and situations; reporting these to instructor.

• Maintain the lab, including doing laundry, cleaning areas around equipment used during the lab, return all equipment to proper place at the end of the lab period, and ensuring the lab is clean and well organized.

• Assist with other requests from instructor.

Required Qualifications

• MWSU Student

• Degree Seeking

• At least an overall 2.0 GPA

• Enrolled at least part-time (6+ hours)

• Currently enrolled in the second year of the PTA program

• May need to qualify for Federal Work Study

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the department.

• Student will need to be able to work independently.

• Student must possess ability to work well with MWSU students, faculty and staff.

Physical Demands Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
