Responsibilities

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for:

  • Direct client care

  • Planning and implementing specific treatment programs for individual clients consistent with the principles and practices of the Physical Therapy Practice Act of the State in which the facility is located

  • Being involved in the further development of rehabilitative services

Qualifications

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) must:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited two-year program for physical therapist assistants and eligible for licensure by the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

  • Have a valid license to practice in the state where the facility resides

  • Have a current CPR certification and maintain same

Responsibilities The Patient Care Technician is responsible for: * Performing various age and population-appropriate patient care activities and accommodative services under the general supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational or Practical Nurse * Performing patient care activities within the limits of the position, does not administer medications or therapy * Not assuming independent responsibility for patient care * Provides pin care, as appropriate * Initiates personal learning activities to increase understanding & update appropriate skills through both formal and informal activities. * Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication * Promotes the mission and vision of Post Acute Medical within the work environment and community * Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures Qualifications The Patient Care Technician must: * Be a High school graduate or equivalent * Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) where required by state where hospital resides; completion of in-house PCT training program or enrollment in a school of professional nursing, having completed two semesters of clinical didactic material * Current BLS certification is required * Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit is preferred Post Acute Medical Miamisburg OH
