This position will work at our 87th Ave location Monday - Friday from 3pm to 5:30pm. Will also help cover for vacations, etc.
Serve as liaison between patients, therapists, and internal/external customers in person and by telephone. Facilitate effective appointment scheduling and handle phone calls, patient check-in/check-out, cashiering and other medical office support duties in a courteous and efficient manner. Facilitates communication regarding patient status changes to Therapists and Assistants. Responsible for maintaining department cleanliness, organization and supplies.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPatient Care
Show patients to the room and give basic instructions to prepare them for evaluation or treatment procedure.
Release patient at the end of their treatment session.
Use approved cleaning supplies for cleaning treatment tables, modality equipment and exercise equipment between each patient use.
Launder soiled linens and place appropriate orders for necessary replacement linens. Stock linens in the appropriate locations.
Perform periodic deep cleaning to the treatment furniture and exercise equipment.
Stock individual treatment rooms with linens and supplies.
Inventory linens, DME, orthotics, and other supplies.
Order replacement supplies through coordination with the Purchasing Dept.
Provide telephone support for incoming calls and messages.
Schedule patient appointments.
Coordinate gathering of information required for patient appointments.
Cover PSR duties during lunch, at beginning/end of day as well as times of heavy traffic at the front desk.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Previous experience using computers is required.
Customer service experience strongly preferred; cashier/retail experience helpful.
Data entry skill of at least 40 wpm.
Experience with multi-line phone systems.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced patient care setting.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent customer service behaviors and self-presentation.
Training is on the job facilitated by Therapist or Assistant.
Adaptable to pace changes.
Must have reliable and predictable attendance.
