Job Description

The staff Physical Therapist PT evaluates client after impairment injury or disease plans designs and implements individualized physical therapy treatment programs after referral from a physician. Interventions may include therapeutic exercise manual therapy functional retraining use of thermal electrical modalities gait training and use of various other training and retraining skills.

Periodically reevaluates client to determine effectiveness of interventions and contributes to discharge planning. The PT supervises treatment provided by students technicians or physical therapist assistants and recommends client care interventions to other members of the health care team to contribute to the clients rehabilitation process. The PT delegates and instructs supportive personnel in services to be provided and performs other duties as requested by the manager

The physical therapist functions as a member of the healthcare team. The purpose is to provide medically prescribed occupational therapy programs in accordance with national standards and administrative policies of the hospital. The goal is to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, surgery or loss of a body part in order to allow the patient to perform to his/her maximum ability. Qualifications: * Education: Minimum education required is a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy * Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Current State professional license or license eligible.
