The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, sets goals, plans treatment programs and treats patients according to physician's orders. The Physical Therapist maintains required records and notes on patient care, assumes responsibility for patient charges, and provides technical advice to support personnel and supervision of same.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will evaluate patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes, and synthesizes the data to establish a plan of care with therapeutic interventions and goals appropriate to patient's age and development.

  • You will determine the efficacy of therapeutic interventions, technologies and outcomes and the utilization of PTA's, students and support personnel.

  • You will document evaluations, treatments, plan of care, charges, and discharge summaries utilizing professional jargon that supports skilled therapeutic necessity and the charges incurred in a concise and timely manner.

  • You will supervise the daily activities of the PTA, and support personnel, in the provision of patient care to facilitate desired changes in patient function toward stated goals.

  • As the Physical Therapist you will interact and confer with a variety of professionals including physicians, nurses, case management, OT's and SLP's to implement and assess the intervention program.

  • Provide Director with constructive suggestions to problem solve, assist with maintaining productivity standards and setting a positive atmosphere for professional development.

Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Bachelors of Science degree from a University in Physical Therapy

  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist by the State of Texas.

Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans to restore or maintain patient well being. Plans, organizes and conducts physical therapy treatment program based on the medical referral and their evaluation. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform initial and ongoing clinical assessments to identify patient needs, determine level of functioning, including OASIS assessments at appropriate time points and appropriateness of patient for home health. * Develop and revise a Plan of Care in consultation with the physician and other care-team members. * Provide therapeutic treatments and evaluation of equipment needs as applicable. * Evaluate outcomes of care with appropriate discharge planning. * Apply concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease. * Accept clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients. * Supervise PTA and HHA as appropriate. * Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner. * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) * Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association approved program. * Current Texas State License as a Physical Therapist, current Texas Drivers License. * Minimum two years experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting * Proof of current CPR, negative TB screen and Hepatitis profile. * Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance .
