At Fairview Health Services, our Physical Therapists apply innovative approaches to treatment and rehabilitation of our patients. Physical Therapists are invited to work in an acute care environment where evidence based practices and a team approach restores patients to their highest level of function.

This per diem or casual position at Fairview Lakes Medical Center includes 1 or 2 weekends per month in an inpatient acute care setting. Populations include post surgical orthopedics, general medical surgical and ICU. Fairview Rehabilitation Services offers professional development opportunities including continuing education.

In collaboration with patients and families, the Physical Therapist responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes.

Partnering with the patient and family while performing the evaluation/re-evaluation

  • Providing patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver

  • Maintaining an individualized plan of care, related to the patient's needs,

  • Continually reassess resource utilization as patient progresses towards goals

  • Providing safe and effective intervention, within scope of practice, according to patient needs

Job Qualifications:
Minumum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Preferred Education:

Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy registration/licensure in the state of Minnesota.

This role will work approximately two shifts per week onevenings (may include some weekend shifts). Undergeneral supervision, performs work which involves collecting and/or processinglaboratory specimens, entering data into the electronic health record (EHR)and/or the laboratory information system (LIS). Interacts andcommunicates with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare teamby using various communication tools in a timely and professional manner. RESPONSIBILITIES SpecimenProcessing: * Assists in maintaining supplies, helping with inventory, and placing orders * Assists with training of new staff and students * Utilizes the electronic health record (EHR), the laboratory information system (LIS) and the email system to efficiently complete daily tasks * Utilizes the laboratory information system (LIS) to monitor the appropriate test pending logs and communicate to the technical staff to ensure testing is not delayed * Performs all specimen processing functions to receive and process specimens according to laboratory protocol, including, but not limited to: * Specimen labeling using proper patient identification techniques * Preparing specimens to be sent out to reference laboratories * Performs urine collections for urine drug screens and complete proper paperwork * Operates laboratory equipment for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform * Other duties as assigned for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform QUALIFICATIONS MinimumQualifications: * High school diploma or GED, plus completion of an approved three month course in clinical laboratory technique * OR- * Completion of ten quarter credits of biology or chemistry college courses and one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting * OR- * One year and six months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting * OR- * An approved equivalent combination of education and experience PreferredQualifications: * Certified or certified eligible with a nationally accredited phlebotomy association Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities: * Customer Service skills Hennepin County Medical Center Minneapolis MN
