Physical Therapist

STARTING RATE: $33.66 (paying $33.66 - 44.35 per hour, depending on experience)

SHIFT: Per Diem

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Physical Therapist performs treatments and exercises to help patients recover from illnesses and injuries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan

• Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care

• Creating personalized fitness-oriented healthcare programs for patients

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility

• Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patients

• Documenting patient care history

• Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents

REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required

• Current PT license in NYS required

• Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients

• Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs

• Experience in long-term care preferred

• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable

• Strong customer service skills and compassion
