Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Therapists are responsible for the application of current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment in patient management. The therapist works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care.
Therapists also serve as advocates and promoters of health, wellness, and fitness to all stakeholders. They serve as educators and mentors for therapy students, peers and other medical professionals. The physical therapist assists with department and program planning.
Experience and/or strong interest in assessment and treatment of men and women with chronic pelvic pain, pelvic floor disorders, as well as musculoskeletal conditions associated with pre-natal and post-partum care is preferred. Experience with internal pelvic assessment and manual treatment of the pelvic floor muscles, or willingness to train in these skills, is preferred. Management of patients with general musculoskeletal or neurodegenerative conditions are also a component of the position.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota as a Physical Therapist.
Demonstrated skills in the areas of organization, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, decision making and problem solving.
Prefer board certification in clinical specialty area and/or advanced degree in health care field.
Also prefer active participation within professional organization.
License or certification
Current physical therapy licensure in the state of Minnesota.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,805.60, based on a full-time position.
Hours / Pay period
Monday-Friday scheduled 8:00-5:00 working in the outpatient therapy department
Every fourth weekend - Weekend assignment will be fulfilled in the acute-care hospital setting.
