PHYSICAL THERAPIST - Cascade Regional Inclusive Services
Classification: Licensed 190-day calendar
Reports to: Cascade Regional Inclusive Services Director
FSLA Status: Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Cascade Regional Inclusive Services team, all specialists have the opportunity to support and positively impact the success of students and families across twelve districts. This unique position works closely with the occupational therapists in our program and in tandem with a team of educators supporting the most complex needs of students experiencing low incidence disabilities.

As part of our regional delivery model, the specialist in this position is surrounded by a team of professionals to consult, problem solve and coordinate educational services with to offer a balanced and systematic approach to treatment. This rewarding position allows practitioners to learn, grow and diversify their expertise across multiple educational environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.Graduation from an accredited program of Physical Therapy as required by the Oregon Physical Therapy Licensing Board for a practicing Physical Therapist.
2.Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited university is preferred.
3.Valid Physical Therapy license from the Oregon Board of Examiners is required.
4.Two or more years of clinical experience in pediatrics or in an educational setting is preferred.
5.Such alternatives to certain above qualifications may apply as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

3.Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.
4.Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
5.Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
6.Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
7.Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
8.Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
9.Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
10. Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds as well as ability to sit for extended periods of time in vehicle, desk and various sized school furniture Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.
11. Ability to frequently bend, squat, twist, climb stairs and sit on the floor.
12. Ability to provide own transportation to school, preschools, community settings and homes in locations throughout a three county region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This is not necessarily an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, and duties associated with this position. The supervisor of this position may modify this list at any time it's deemed necessary.

1.Participate in screening and comprehensive assessment of students with orthopedic or motor impairment.
2.Participate as a specialist in the area of orthopedic impairment to determine eligibility.
3.Assist the education team in the development of appropriate goals, objectives, modifications, accommodations, strategies and behavior plans for identified students on the caseload.
4.Participate in the preparation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) for identified students.
5.Prepare records and reports for eligibility evaluations, services, IEPs / IFSPs and transitions according to program procedures or as directed.
6.Design, construct and adapt materials and equipment to provide support in the educational setting.
7.Serve as a resource, consultant and trainer to provide specialized suggestions and/or equipment for use by educators and/or parents.
8.Lead in the assessment, selection, training, management and use of assistive technology related to motor impairment.
9.Instruct education staff in appropriate body mechanics, positioning, handling and mobility needs of the student to support educational goals/program.
10. Monitors use and fit of braces, prosthetics and other gross motor support equipment.
11. Synthesize and integrate clinical, educational and interpersonal issues regarding change, disabilities, grief and loss.
12. Work independently with limited contact with other PT staff.
13. Participate in Medicaid billing process for school-based services as directed.

SALARY AND BENEFIT INFORMATION
Licensed employees are represented by Linn Benton Lincoln Education Association
Salary and benefit information shown are based on full-time employment (1.0 FTE) based on the current school year
Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD licensed salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant's qualifications, relevant training, and experience
Linn Benton Lincoln ESD will provide an Insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision insurance premiums
