Responsibilities

Responsible for development, implementation and coordination of a physical therapy program to provide screening, evaluation and treatment of patient of all ages.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Completion of an approved four-to-six year college program in physical therapy.

Minimum Experience: New graduate.

Required Certification/Registration: Current NYS licensed with NYS Education Department Office of the Professions or eligible for NYS licensure with a limited permit. Current BLS preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Walks, stands, sits, frequent moderate to heavy lifting.

Working Conditions: Inside facility & grounds, community outings, home visits.

Duties of physical therapist assistant shall not include evaluation, testing, interpretation, planning or modification of patient programs. Qualifications Minimum Education: Completion of a two-year CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education / APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program or its equivalent. Minimum Experience: New graduate. Required Certification/Registration: Currently certified with NYS Education Department Office of the Professions or have a limited permit to practice in NYS with on-site supervision of a New York State licensed and currently registered physical therapistCurrent and ongoing BLS certification. Physical Requirements: Walks, stands, sits, frequent moderate to heavy lifting.Working Conditions:• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift in excess of 25 lbs.• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
