Position description

Evaluate and treat patients using physical agents and/or exercise and to keep current with documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (or Arts) in Physical Therapy.

License or certification

Current Minnesota Licensure to practice Physical Therapy. Valid driver's license.

In addition, current Iowa license to practice Physical Therapy for staff who are required to treat home health patients in Iowa. Basic Life Support - HealthCare

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $32.40 per hour.

Schedule details

Regular weekend rotation treating hospital in-patients. Other shifts available to cover for staff vacation and leaves.

Weekend schedule

Weekend rotation every 7 weeks (more frequently if desired). This normally involves a.m. coverage on Saturday and Sunday.

Serves as a key member of the rehabilitation leadership team with a focus on planning and implementation of policies and systems as well as advances in clinical care and implementation of standards/best practice. Supports Regional Director in operational program development and project management including metrics/scorecards, process improvement, and team collaboration to maximize efficiencies, effectiveness, process flows and outcomes. Partners in the support of rehabilitation department/division and institutional projects, staff recruitment, policy implementation, and serves as a resource for issues and communications. Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of management issues. Direct reports include rehabilitation department/division therapists, therapist assistants, licensed athletic trainers, cardiac rehab therapists, massage therapists and other department/division personnel as assigned. Facilitates the attainment of departmental goals and objectives to promote optimal patient care in addition to efficient and effective processes. Collaborates with the Regional Director to implement operational and clinical programs. Recruits, develops and supports the professional development of assigned staff. Assures regulatory compliance within assigned areas of responsibilities and in collaboration with Regional Director, Regional Rehabilitation Services Managers and support departments. Demonstrates leadership to promote a model of excellence in practice, education and research. Maintains active and current knowledge of the practice in order to provide patient care and to assist /coach/mentor therapy staff as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Clinical degree and licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. Minimum of five years of previous experience in aspects of rehabilitative medicine. Extensive background in rehabilitation and the knowledge to effectively coordinate activities throughout a diverse practice and broad continuum of patient care services. Strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others. Excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills. Excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities. Broad based knowledge of computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases and statistics for budgetary responsibilities. Additional qualifications Preferred: Experience in Business or Healthcare Leadership. Membership and active engagement in professional organizations and/or associations. License or certification Professional Minnesota license for specialty (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist) Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire Exemption status Exempt Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
