We are looking for an IN-Network Physical Therapist, part time or full time position to join our Hudson Wellness Team - Ridgewood location.

In-Network with any of the following:

PT Job Duties:

  • Evaluate patients, set goals, create a plan of care, monitor progress and provide high quality One-On-One treatment.
  • Assess abnormal conditions by reviewing MD's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
  • Coordinate with medical practitioners including Sports Medicine Physician, Orthopedic and Spine surgeon, Podiatrist, Neurologist, and Pain Management doctors. The Physical therapist will also work closely with alternative medicine practitioners such as Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists
  • Document patient care services in patient records.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual techniques; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, postural re-education, ambulatory functional activities, and activities of daily living.
  • Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, and promotes wellness and health maintenance.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing, implementing patient management plans, educating patient in the areas of injury prevention and care.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Active New York State license to practice PT

We currently have an experienced physical therapist and occupational therapist involved in many active SMA studies. An additional physical therapist is needed to expand the clinical trial efforts as well as other important research related initiatives such as outcome measure and biomarker development. We are currently seeking a physical therapist for a pediatric neuromuscular clinical research center at Columbia University. The therapist will provide clinical physical therapy evaluations and treatment and will work on clinical research studies. Responsibilities for Physical Therapist Perform clinical evaluations of the pediatric neuromuscular population seen in our clinic. Perform functional and impairment based evaluations. Evaluate patients for rehabilitation, adaptive, and durable medical equipment needs and make recommendations for follow-up and community care. Evaluate, prescribe, and measure patients for appropriate equipment. Responsible for submitting for funding for necessary equipment from third party payers writing detailed letters of medical necessity and appeals as needed. Work closely with regional vendors to provide prescribe and provide custom equipment. Responsibilities for Clinical Evaluator/ Research Therapist Clinical trial evaluation, spirometry testing, motor function testing, quantitative muscle testing and other clinical and research evaluations of neuromuscular patients. Data collection and entry, scheduling and preparation for study visits Monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements and good clinical practice Assist the investigators in design, planning and implementation of new research projects Assist in writing protocols Assist in maintaining research files and interacting with monitors Communicate with research teams at Columbia University and other institutions Coordinate comprehensive multi-disciplinary care for patients with neuromuscular disease Assist patients in their home care and equipment needs Work with physicians to assess muscle strength and motor function as part of clinical evaluations. Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicantRequires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience. Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy. NYS-licensed of eligible; must be able to adhere to Good Clinical Practice and other regulator guidelines. Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicantRequirements: * At least one year of pediatric and juvenile experience preferred * Ability to work in teams, flexibility and a positive attitude * Significant experience with neuromuscular disease--SMA helpful but not required. Special Instructions Preferred Qualifications Essential FunctionsThe candidate should be highly motivated, interested in pediatric neuromuscular disease, have excellent clinical skills and an interest in academic research. We are looking for someone who can establish good rapport with children and bring creativity to treatments. Computer skills are required including proficiency with MS-Word, MS-Excel, Outlook, and MS-Powerpoint.
