What You Will Do

As an Associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition.

  • Establishes, revises and evaluates a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family.

  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.

  • Oversees activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy (RPT) credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Diploma

  • Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years of Outpatient Rehab experience strongly preferred.

Index and create tracking files to initiate clearance process, once documents are received. * Follow-up with carriers, manage pre-alerts daily, and maintain record of all communications in files. * Inform supervisor of problems and irregularities. * Assist in coordination and communication of release to carrier, internal or external customer. * Improve understanding and knowledge of basic and advanced features of internal systems. * Actively pursue a better understanding of the process (through self- study, courses, and seminars presented by approved sources, and receive certification of competency in these applications). * Perform other duties as assigned. Interpersonal & Communication Skills Required: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently; ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds; ability to read, comprehend, and write basic correspondence; effectively present information one-on-one or in a small group situation; identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
