The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for providing occupational health nursing, medical, and integrated health and wellness services consistent with the policies, guidelines, objectives, and content of the Ortho Health Services Program. Reports to Health Resource Manager. * Provides clinical healthcare services including: Nursing care for medical emergencies, injuries and illnesses, case management of occupational injuries and illness, medical surveillance examinations and general health education and coaching. * Collaborates with the Health Resource team in the deployment a wellness strategy, policies and standards for occupational health, wellness & health promotion and employee assistance programs. * Responsible for compliance associated with occupational health at the locations including compliance with applicable ADA, OSHA and workers compensation regulations/recordkeeping, US Health Resource policies and guidelines, and Ortho Benefits programs including STD/LTD/FMLA. * Perform occupational health surveillance evaluations and tests as established in company's medical guidelines and directives: coordinate tests with internal and external resources, coordinate with departments' managers and supervisors, document interventions in electronic record management system. * Provide support to Health & Wellness Programs; conduct health risk assessments, health evaluations and other services within the Ortho integrated employee Health Services strategy, including but not limited to health promotion, education and health screenings. * Maintain accurate clinical records, utilizing approved medical, nursing and statistical formats, including computer technology. * Advise and counsels employees within areas of integrated services and make appropriate referrals (internal and external) when indicated. * Function as Health Services Nurse MERT site lead to coordinate membership, first aid training, maintenance of medical equipment, MERT response bags, AED's. * Develop knowledge of the occupational hazards/exposures and treatment thereof, for the specific location. * Maintain high level of confidentiality and sensitivity to inquiries and access to personal medical records. * Drives increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and well-being. * Maintain communication with disability management vendor, HR, safety as needed and within Health Resource guidelines. * Participates in business initiatives and projects. Actively participate in Wellness and EHS meetings. Provide quarterly metrics to Health Resource lead. * Leads at least 1 US project for the Health Resource team. Qualifications * Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in occupational health, emergency room or intensive care nursing experience. * Registered Nurse license is required. Occupational Health Nursing certification is required or in lieu of certification two (2) years of experience in occupational health. * Training in Emergency (First Aid) is preferred. Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Spirometry certifications are required. CPR Health Care Provider Certified is required. * Must have working knowledge of regulatory areas (e.g., ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Comp, STD/LTD). * Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. * Advance computer skills for electronic medical documentation (i.e., MEDS) are highly preferred. * Must be willing to work in all 3 Rochester sites as needed. * Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. * Availability to provide on-call support after working hours is required. * Must be available to work overtime as needed. * Candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, capable to be aware, calculate, catalog, compare, classify, coordinate, copy, detect, diagnose, edit, estimate, evaluate, influence, inspect, interpret, read, observe, plan, collect and organize. Ability to work under time pressure and customer services oriented is required. * Physical requirements of this position include light work that requires physical and mental strength; it requires eye-hand coordination and moving about capacity and near acute vision. #LI-AS1 For this position we will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
