Select Physical Therapy is seeking a full time physical therapist to split their schedule between our two Avon, CT offices. Our outpatient orthopedic centers are looking for a compassionate and driven licensed Physical Therapist to provide exceptional patient care experiences. This is ideal for a physical therapist with previous OP ortho experience, but new graduates are WELCOME to apply. We are able to consider a new graduate physical therapist as we DO have a team of experienced PTs treating a diverse population of teens through geriatrics. We offer general orthopedics, sports medicine and industrial rehabilitative services in a supportive, positive team environment. This is a FULL time (40 hour) position treating three evenings until 7pm. NO WEEKENDS! An ideal physical therapist has one to two years of experience interested in conducting Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs). Again, new grads are WELCOME to apply- be ready for a challenge.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school of physical therapy

  • Valid State Physical Therapy License/ Registration REQUIRED to start

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week with occasional late or early shifts to accommodate patients

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift. Must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone.

  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day/shift.

  • Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.

  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.

  • Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community.

  • Possess fine motor skills for legible and accurate reporting, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentations, either manually or through use of electronic equipment.

  • Possess fine motor skills for effective and efficient handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment.

An ideal hand therapist is an occupational therapist who is also a certified hand therapist (CHT). We can consider an occupational therapist without CHT but you MUST have solid splinting experience we have a full time CHT and COTA on staff completing our team. At minimum you must have completed a level II fieldwork in hands. We are open to consider a variety of schedules including full time, part time and per diem. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7a-6p. Depending on your interest, we will discuss an ideal schedule. All schedules will include some evenings until 6pm for our population.
