Seeking a highly motivated, experienced therapist who enjoys using their skills in various settings instead of focusing on only one setting. Float pool is typically assigned to different clinics/settings to cover vacations, medical leaves, and therapist vacancies. They travel to all locations including Muskogee.

Job Summary: Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment.

Completes patient records in a timely manner. Provides instruction (teaching) to patients and/or family members.

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid State of Oklahoma Licensure in Physical Therapist Assistant

Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to use computers, basic computer knowledge, as needed for data input and reporting.

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective time management skills. Ability to work in multiple settings (acute care, IP Rehab, outpatient PT, and home health). Every float employee has to be trained in 3 out of 4 of these areas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment.

Progresses patient treatment as appropriate. Assists RPT in modifying and re-setting functional goals. Carries patient load that reflects productivity standards.

Provides documentation by: 1) maintaining appropriate treatment records; 2) completing accurate daily patient charge sheets. Completes patient records in a timely (same day) manner. Accurately reflects time spent and procedures performed as well as equipment issued in patient charges.

Maintains technical (education) expertise through: 1) attendance and participation in continuing education activities; and 2) departmental in-services. Attends 95% of scheduled in-services and departmental meetings. Attends one off-campus continuing-education activity per year.

Provides instruction (teaching) to patients and/or family members. Follows care path guidelines for patient/family education and documentation of home programs. Teaches patient/family member proper use of equipment issued.

Follows set guidelines for daily operations. Schedules and prioritizes daily work assignments. Delegates, as appropriate, to support personnel basic patient treatments to follow through with.

Assists with PT volunteers and RPTA students as requested by (in-charge) therapist. Consistent and correct time-care utilization.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise) . Works directly with patients and/or customers.

Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
