We are looking for strong candidates for our Physical Therapy Assistant position. The position will be part time/per diem. We have two clinics conveniently located in Tribeca and the West Village in Manhattan. You will be based out of both locations depending on when and where we will need your expertise. We will work with your schedule as much as possible to maximize efficiency.

Our Physical Therapy Assistant is expected to provide a professional patient care experience. In this role, you will be expected to perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual techniques; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, postural re-education, ambulatory functional activities, and activities of daily living under the direct supervision of a physical therapist.

You will also integrate with other disciplines such as massage therapy within Hudson Wellness to deliver a comprehensive coordinated approach to care.


  • Ability to contribute to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives.
  • Ability to provide manual therapy with a variety of techniques
  • Implementation of a physical therapists plan of care for treatment, and being able to communicate with patients throughout the course of treatment moving forward
  • Address abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Document patient care services in patient records.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Desire to work as part of a team
  • Intermediate knowledge of medical billing and insurance process
  • Punctuality with completing treatments on time so patients can move onto other portions of their appointment(s) without delay
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee can regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.


  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
  • Current New York State PTA license
  • at least 3 years of outpatient sports/orthopedic experience
  • Pilates experience a plus!
