Physical Therapy Aide# Outpatient Rehab # Floater- Temporary # Physical Therapy Aide position needed for our growing outpatient rehabilitation program. This person will float to any one of our six locations in our five county service area to fill in for others. Qualifications required are to either be enrolled in or in the process of enrolling in an accredited Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant program. Job duties will include clerical and front office functions, such as patient registration, insurance verification/preauthorization, collections and scheduling in a busy outpatient healthcare setting. If you desire getting experience in a rehabilitation setting, enjoy assisting others in creating a positive experience and are looking for a temporary summer opportunity, then this job may be for you.

FirstHealth Rehabilitation Department will provide you with:

Organizes time and sets priorities appropriately to maintain department's productivity standards and needs.

Utilizes the scheduling system(s) to efficiently perform assigned duties (scheduling patients, greeting and checking in arrived patients, noting cancellations and no/shows) Anticipates and plans for coverage of clinic duties during scheduled time off.

Utilizes time appropriately to complete additional duties such as department and personal goals (goals for clinic set yearly, and personal goals set at probationary and annual review)

Demonstrates problem solving/critical thinking skills.

Collaborates with other health care providers in assisting with the provision of physical therapy related activities under the direct on-site supervision of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. (copying home exercise programs, supervising patient's exercises, bringing patients to pool to prep for aquatic therapy, cleaning equipment, tables, and clinic, restocking linen, etc. Volunteers to assist other staff with clinic tasks (chart management, clerical duties, bringing patients back to treatment rooms for therapists, etc.)

Assists in safe and effective physical therapy related activities while under on-site supervision of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. (duties as listed above)

Accurately and effectively assists with assigned clerical duties. (faxing documentation for physician signature, chart management, reminder calls for patient appointments or to reschedule no/show appointments, breaking down charts for shipping to HIM, answering phones and taking messages)

Follows department/organization policies regarding patient's rights and responsibilities, professional ethics, and legal authority and payor requirements. Participates in program development to improve patient care or promote program growth. Actively pursues and shares knowledge that will improve job specific skills.

Shares knowledge and expertise on how to meet the individual needs of those served by being utilized as resource by others (same discipline, other disciplines, students, volunteers, referral/payor sources, administration, etc)

Current enrollment in an American Physical Therapy Association accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
