In accordance with physician orders, the Physical Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out physical therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities.
Join a comprehensive innovative team in our acute care hospital. We are comprised of a large rehab team with a daily average of 15 PT, 15 OT, and 3 SLP staff. Our therapists come from a wide variety of experiences and educations with an expansive range of clinical years. In the acute care setting, therapists evaluate and treat a wide spectrum of patients with diagnoses such as trauma, cardiac surgery, CVA, NICU, PICU, and general medical.
Some notable information about the Unit:
Location: This position is within the main hospital building and will service all patients within the hospital setting.
Patient's Stay: Average length of patient's stay is 3-5 days for general population but can extend greatly with our trauma patient population.
Patient Focus:Stroke, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic brain injury, Complex trauma, Cardiac, Neurologic & Musculosketal conditions
Patient Average: 8-10- Combination of evaluations, reevaluations and treatments.
Shifts: Varied with an average of 8 hour shifts: Typically 8a-4:30p. Flexibility available for variance in shift length and start and end times. 4 weekend days required per schedule period.

Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy.
Florida State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
