Job Title: Physical Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement weekly engaging physical education lesson plans that meet state and national standards.

  • Teach a variety of physical activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness routines, and recreational games.

  • Assess students' physical abilities, progress, and overall health, providing feedback and support to help them improve.

  • Promote the importance of physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and good sportsmanship.

  • Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, grades, and progress.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during physical activities by following appropriate safety protocols and guidelines.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress and any concerns.

  • Stay current with developments in physical education and health by participating in professional development opportunities.

  • Teach a variety of physical activities, including sports, exercise routines, and fitness techniques.

  • Provide feedback and grades based on students' performance, participation, and improvement.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Manage student behavior effectively, ensuring safety and respect during physical activities.

  • Enforce school policies and procedures related to health and physical education.

  • Provide first aid and respond to injuries during physical activities.

  • Stay updated with current trends, techniques, and developments in physical education.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve the PE program.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.

  • Teaching credential or certification in physical education (requirements vary by region).

  • Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of physical education techniques, fitness principles, and sports rules.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities and ages.

  • Proficient in classroom management and student supervision.

  • Experience:

  • Previous experience teaching physical education or coaching sports is preferred.

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting is beneficial.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Physical fitness and the ability to demonstrate exercises and sports activities.

  • Stamina to conduct multiple physical education classes and activities throughout the day.

  • Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Additional coaching certifications may be required for specific sports.
