JOB DESCRIPTION:

To assist in working with groups of students in physical education and perform duties to facilitate that program.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist physical education teacher in helping children master objectives.

• Support and carry out activities related to the program.

• Executive duties involving supervision of children.

• Communicate with students, teachers and parents.

• Other duties as assigned by physical education teacher and principal.

• Assist in supervision of students riding late buses.

• Regular assistance.

• Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous work with children in job-related capacity or volunteer work

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• High School diploma

• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Appreciation of and patience with children

• Ability to work well with others

• Positive human relations skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

• Flexible

• Positive work performance regarding promptness, attendance and productivity

• Willingness to take initiative
