Job Posting: Physical Education and Health Teacher

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PK-12 Physical Education and Health Teacher to join our team at the Hinsdale Public School in Hinsdale, Montana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education and health education, as well as a commitment to fostering a healthy lifestyle and mindset among students.

Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive physical education and health curriculum aligned with state standards and educational objectives.

• Instruction: Provide effective instruction in physical education and health classes to students across various grade levels, ensuring inclusivity and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

• Assessment: Assess student learning and progress through various methods, including observation, projects, quizzes, and tests. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.

• Promotion of Health and Wellness: Promote health and wellness initiatives within the school community, including organizing events, workshops, and activities that encourage physical activity, healthy eating habits, and overall well-being.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to support student success and well-being. Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education and health concepts across the curriculum.

• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physical education and health education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field.

• Valid teaching certification/license in Physical Education or Health Education (or willingness to attain).

• Experience teaching physical education and health classes at the elementary, middle, and/or high school level is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of health and wellness concepts, nutrition, fitness, and sportsmanship.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Commitment to fostering student growth and well-being.

About Us:

• Hinsdale is an amazing, rural community nestled between Hwy 2 and the meandering Milk River. We are located 30 minutes west of Glasgow and 35 minutes east of Malta.

• Our PK-12 student enrollment is 55, with 13 certified staff, four paraprofessionals, a half-time school counselor, and a full-time administrator.

•  The community has a proud tradition of farming and ranching and is very supportive of the school.

• We offer football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, hockey, wrestling, track, and softball, with several of these sports being co-ops.

• We co-op with Saco and Whitewater to form the North Country Mavericks for volleyball and basketball. Our volleyball team has been in the top 3 at state for the last two years, and our girls' basketball team has been in the top 3 at state for the last five years, including back-to-back state championships.
