TEACHER - HS STRENGTH & CONDITIONING / ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR 

9-12 STRENGTH & CONDITIONING (PE) TEACHER

Reports to: Building Principal

Strength/Conditioning Teacher Details:

  • Develop and maintain sports specific in-season and off-season strength and conditioning programs for ALL student-athletes. Included but not limited to weight training, quickness and mobility, flexibility, cardiovascular, and injury prevention and rehab.

  • A focus on the health and wellness of the general student population.

  • Willingness to be flexible with a special interest in keeping strength and conditioning methods current. Including but not limited to strength and conditioning equipment assessment and a plan to be involved in the future growth of our available training space(s).

The Strength and Conditioning teaching position is a part-time position (71%).  It will be a 4-period day with 3-periods of AD and/or Teaching Prep. (2024-25 Teacher Salary range is $37,089 - $68,040)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF TEACHING POSITION:

  • Plans and develops course of study according to curriculum guidelines of District and state requirements.  Actual curriculum must often be tailored for three or more levels of academic ability and previous achievement.

  • Develops and presents specific lesson plans, using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audio-visual and library resources, computers, and the Internet.

  • Prepares assignments and tests for in-school preparation and homework.  Monitors, assists, corrects, and grades student performances.

  • Conducts standardized tests in accordance with District policies and law.

  • Maintains order in the classroom and, in conjunction with administrative staff, administers discipline when necessary to achieve proper behavior.

  • Shares with other teachers and aides responsibility for monitoring halls, study periods.

  • Counsels students when academic difficulties or behavioral problems arise.

  • Keeps records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation.  Reports on all aspects of student development for school records and parents; conducts parent-teacher conferences on both a regularly scheduled and an as-needed basis.

  • Consults with other professionals, where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities, drug or alcohol abuse, or problems of social adjustment.  Coordinates decisions with parents concerning any specialized intervention which appears warranted.

  • Reports cases of suspected child abuse according to state law.

  • Complies with Board policies, rules, regulations, and directives.

  • Works with guidance counselor in helping students select courses of study or college.

  • Performs related duties such as sponsoring a student organization or activity.

  • Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars, and workshops.

  • Directs classroom aides.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education

  • State of Montana Educator license with appropriate endorsements.

DISTRICT ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

Reports to: Superintendent

District Activities Director Details:

  • Supervisor for ALL Athletic offerings including: 3-6 Skills Programs, GMS Programs, and GHS Programs

  • Supervisor for ALL HS/MS Activity offerings including: Fall and Winter Cheer, Speech & Drama, Drama (School Play), Pep Band, Music (Band/Choir), High School Dances, and all school-sanctioned clubs.

  • Activity Transportation Director

Night and Weekend District Activity Director duties is a year to year contract and is paid over 12 months as an extra-duty stipend. (2024-25 Stipend is $9,087)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR:

  • Supervises all head coaches.

  • Assists in selecting, assigning, and evaluating all coaching personnel.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Board’s policies, rules, regulations, and/or directives and applicable laws. (Including ALL Home Activities within the District and MHSA Postseason events outside the District)

  • Assumes leadership role in the orientation and in-service training of coaching personnel and appropriate parent meetings.

  • Represents the School District in matters of interscholastic athletics with the MHSA.

  • Responsible for the organization and scheduling of athletic events.

  • Arranges officials for all home contests.

  • Arranges transportation for away contests.

  • Develops and continues to evaluate appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.

  • Fosters good school-parent relations by maintaining communications relative to rules and regulations on athletics.

  • Establishes and enforces the physical, academic, and training requirements of eligibility for participation. (including maintaining Drug Testing operations)

  • Conducts an Annual All-Sports Banquet

  • Serves as a non-voting board member of the Scottie Booster Club

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES TRANSPORTATION DIRECTOR:

  • Supervise all personnel who are drivers on activity trips.

  • Assign and coordinate all activity trips with the Transportation Manager.

  • Prepare the seasons’ activity bus driver schedule.

  • Hold CDL with the endorsements:  school bus, passenger, and air brakes
