Staff Photographer

Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for capturing high-quality, on-brand visual content to support the organization's marketing, branding and communication initiatives. The photographer will play an important role in creating authentic, visually appealing and compelling images that align with the brand's identity and convey a story effectively to a specific audience or audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of photography techniques, excellent creative and technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute photo sessions, ensuring alignment between objectives and brand guidelines.

• Capture a variety of images, including individual and team service, patient and family interactions with staff, portraits, lifestyle photos and event coverage.

• In line with the core values of Cincinnati Children's, make an intentional effort to ensure that the overall book of organizational photography includes diverse representation of staff, patients, families and reflects our internal and external community.

• Manage and coordinate photo shoots with external partners as necessary.

• Tag assets with metadata to assist with searchability.

• Perform periodic reviews to remove or retire older photography per organizational guidelines.

• Edit and retouch photos to meet quality standards and brand specifications.

• Organize and manage an efficient workflow for timely delivery of edited images.

• Work closely with the marketing, communications and design teams to understand project goals and deliver visual content that enhances marketing and communications materials.

• Advise and collaborate with other departments to ensure visual consistency across various platforms.

• Provide creative input and ideas for visual content that align with the brand's messaging and goals.

• Stay current with industry trends to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table.

• Ensure that all visual content reflects brand guidelines and maintains a consistent look and feel.

• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their visual needs and provide updates on project timelines.

• Follow organizational requirements regarding patient authorization forms and other procedures in order to respect and protect our patients, families and employees.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience as a professional photographer, preferably in an in-house or corporate setting.

• Proficient in photography software and editing tools (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).

• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of photography skills.

• Excellent understanding of composition, lighting, and other photography principles.

• Knowledge of current trends in photography and design.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts or related field required.
• 2-5 years of relevant professional photography experience.
