Job Title: Marketing & Social Media Department: Public Relations Reports to: Director of Public Relations Prepared by: Human Resources Department Prepared Date: May 2024 Position Status: Part-time (Contract), 20-25 hours per week, no benefits
The AJUSD Marketing & Social Media Coordinator will work directly with the Communications Director and be responsible for presenting district updates/highlights to the Apache Junction community and new families moving into the district. They will create and sustain a content calendar for social media, design/create branded materials in Canva, and attend district events to cover photography/reporting.
The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is a team player who puts KIDS FIRST and strives to grow, learn, and improve themselves and to help move the district forward.
What will you do?
Follow branding guidelines for the District and all schools within it
Be familiar with and adhere to marketing best-practices for education
Create and implement standard marketing strategies to align with district goals:
Create marketing content and materials for all marketing types, including but not limited to:
Social Media & YouTube Content
Printed flyers and signage
Electronic newsletters
Social media posts, ads, and campaigns
Email alerts to families
Team usable content library (photography, video, Canva templates, etc.)
Update websites for district/individual school sites
Follow an editorial calendar and schedule posts
Moderate groups/pages
Respond respectfully to followers and direct messages
Maintain AJUSD website content
Order and manage district "Swag" items
Design items as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced skills and knowledge in all Social Media channels
Excellent photography/videography skills
Photo/video editing
Social Media Marketing/Editing Tools
Experience with content creation and management
Excellent copywriting skills
Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, print, and video)
Outstanding communication skills
Analytical and multitasking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a quick turnaround time
Team player and self starter
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
High School Graduate
1-3 years of marketing experience is preferred - education experience a plus!
