From transporting and setting up blood collection equipment at work sites, to drawing blood from donors, as a Phlebotomist/Mobile Driver with the American Red Cross you will work all aspects of blood drives at schools, offices & churches throughout Lima OH and the surrounding areas. No experience necessaryour paid training is a mix of classroom instruction and field practice.

Phlebotomist/Mobile Driver Job Responsibilities

  • Balance production, donor care & quality requirements to meet daily blood collection goals

  • Take the time to personally connect with donors listen to their stories and help them understand the value of their donation

  • Be detail oriented all day, every day, to ensure that the blood you collect meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused

  • Remain flexible to work a highly variable schedule that includes early start times, late end times, weekends & holidays to meet the needs of our blood drive sponsors and donors.

  • Take care of your team members show up for every shift and give 100% while you're there

  • Contribute to a friendly and fun environment. Team up with your co-workers to keep our donors coming back again and again

  • Interact in a positive, proactive and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times

Phlebotomist/Mobile Driver Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Customer service experience, effective verbal communication, and public relations skills are required

  • Experience driving large vehicles strongly preferred

  • Ability to load, drive and unload vehicles with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Medical assistant or phlebotomy training preferred but not required

  • A current, valid driver's license and good driving record is required

  • Basic computer skills are desirable

  • DOT certification may be required in some locations. If required, must pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one year duration

  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, squatting, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, and the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

  • All staff work as a team to setup and tear down the equipment required to conduct a mobile blood drive. This involves pushing carts up to 250 lbs, setting up beds and handling many totes containing equipment and snacks for the donors.

  • Flexibility to work long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required

Responsibilities About the Program: The Dock to Driver program is currently hiring for Linehaul drivers. Holland, Inc., a recognized leader in the transportation industry is hiring individuals for our Driver Training Program at our Youngstown Terminal located in Youngstown, OH. You will be trained to become a proficient and safe driving professional. We provide mentoring as you obtain a Certified Driver License (CDL) with all the necessary endorsements. Applicants that meet Holland hiring criteria and are interested in pursuing a career to become a CDL Linehaul driver but do not yet have a CDL, are eligible to enter the Holland-based Driver Training Program. Applicants must also be willing to obtain both Hazmat and Tanker endorsements with their CDL. Successful completion of the driver training program will result in enrollment of the applicant into finishing school in lieu of the driving experience criteria. Once you become a Holland employee you will: * Work a minimum 30 days on the Youngstown Holland Terminal dock prior to beginning formal driver training and be paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour plus overtime as appropriate. * Work in a manner which demonstrates the ability to minimize the risk of injury and collision to as low as reasonably possible. * Consistently demonstrate work performance which meets or exceeds quality, quantity, time, and communications expectations. Qualifications Applicants should have one (1) to three (3) years previous forklift driver experience, a problem free Motor Vehicle record, and a true negative result on a pre-employment drug screen. Qualified applicants may also be required to take additional pre employment testing/assessments.
