The phlebotomist technician performs venous blood collection with few uncollected specimens, unacceptable specimens or requests for assistance.# This individual accurately processes specimens using computers and/or manual systems following established procedures, performs clerical and receptionist duties.# This individual is responsible to note the Medical Necessity check from the Iatrics system.# They must provide appropriate explanation to the Medicare patient in the event of Medical Necessity failure and supply an Advanced Beneficiary Notice with appropriate documentation.# The phlebotomy technician interacts with patient populations from neonate to geriatric, with patients of all types of illnesses. # Education


High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a structured phlebotomy course that included a minimum of 40 hours of didactic and 80 clinical hours in a laboratory/hospital setting.# One year full time equivalent phlebotomy experience in a laboratory/hospital setting or a fast-paced, high-volume dedicated phlebotomy setting, preferred.# # Work Orientation


Experience may be required based upon education and training.# The incumbent may require up to 6 weeks of full-time detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions. #
