Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $32,000 -$42,000 (hourly $15.32 - $20.11)
The College of Arts & Sciences, St. Petersburg Campus, Department of Psychology is searching for a Phlebotomist with the following duties:
Administers venipuncture and collects blood specimens for research studies
Assesses patients on initial visit and follow up visit
Prepares patients for blood draws
Performs phlebotomist duties such as collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
Labels, prepare, and ships blood samples; Ensures safety, regulatory, and other compliance requirements are followed.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
Observe and report any performance, compliance or staffing related issues to supervisors
Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Manual of Operating Procedures, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Study Protocol); and ensure that all staff members follow instructions.
Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs
Performs other duties as assigned
Indicate any licenses, certifications, or registrations that are required to qualify:
Phlebotomist
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in phlebotomy, office or administrative support or in research support. College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Phlebotomy experience with older adults
