The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the operation, organization of the Central Collection department and for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the Board of Directors and the Management Team. Responsibilities

Phlebotomy

  • Performs venous, arterial and capillary blood collection, processing and delivery of specimens to departments within Trinity Laboratory. Consistently demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient, sample and identification and labeling.

  • Educates others and maintains knowledge of departmental functions, policies and procedures including AIDET and Focus values.

  • Assists with the training new employees, being helpful supportive in the teaching of new associates.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy course, Medical Assistant, Associate of Arts, preferred.

Experience: Experience with phlebotomy, preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Communication skills including reading, writing & speaking fluent english, Adaptability, customer/patient focused, Interpersonal skills and Self-development.

Lifting Requirements: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
