Sea Mar's network of services includes more than 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics and a wide variety of nutritional, social, and educational services. We are recruiting for the following position(s):

Position Summary:

Phlebotomist - Posting #20527: Full-time Phlebotomist position available for our Olympia Medical Clinic.

The clinic is open Monday-Saturday. Staff may be asked to work some Saturdays as needed. Employee will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and assisting with routine EKGs, Spirometry, and clerical duties within the laboratory.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

  • Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy training program required.

  • A minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic setting is desired.

  • Must have a CPR/BLS Certification.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Essential Responsibilities: * Assists nursing staff by performing designated duties related to patient care in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and welfare (obtains vital signs, EKG's, basic wound care, etc). Documents care in electronic medical record. * Maintains supplies per department standards. * Demonstrates good knowledge and practice in of sterile and isolation techniques. * Assists with instructing patient in crutch walking. * Applies splints and orthopedic appliances under the direction of the RN or practitioner. Functions as a phlebotomist as directed by the RN or practitioner. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting. Education High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration Medical assistant or EMT certification OR able to obtain shortly after hire. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required by date of hire/transfer. Additional Requirements: Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and clinical staff. Knowledge of medical terminology. Basic computer skills. Knowledge and skill in emergency services protocols, patient safety, and clinical standards. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting. EMT training.
