Hours: 9:30am-6pm Mon-Friday, with an every 3rd Saturday rotation. Saturday hours are 7am-12noon.
Collects, identifies, labels, handles and processes venous and capillary blood specimens from patients for health care providers. Performs a variety of duties involved in the registering and ordering of clinical specimens. Completes clerical duties associated with laboratory specimen collection and processing. Reports to the Laboratory Patient Service Center Supervisor(s) and is accountable to all Laboratory Management Team members.
High school or equivalent (GED).
Phlebotomy training/externship required.

Performs patient registrations in the Hospital Information System.
Performs test ordering in the Laboratory Information System.
Provides customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
Supports the training of phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel, in regards to obtaining,
handling and transport of specimens and other areas related to phlebotomy.
Improvement efforts within the department.
