Phlebotomist Floater

  • Based in Brownsville, TX - Coverage area includes mid and lower Rio Grande Valley

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Floater. This first shift position will have the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays as scheduled. The candidate must demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, phlebotomy procedures, and basic knowledge of the cities.

The functions of the Phlebotomy position will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Phlebotomist with 2-3 years' experience and able to demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills.

  • Blood Collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups.

  • Perform Urine Drug screen collections, paternity collections, and biometric screenings

  • Used for Phlebotomy Coverage as needed.

  • Strong Customer Service Skills.

  • Healthcare Experience Preferred

  • Able to pass a standardize color blind test.

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and meet all state and local requirements where the laboratory is located with a valid drivers license and clean driving record.

  • Healthcare Experience Preferred

  • Candidate with Associate's/Bachelor's in Science degree may be eligible to participate in a career path program to become a Technician/Technologist.

Requirements

Our requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, as well as Phlebotomy certification (where required) from an accredited agency

  • Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent)

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a patient service technician/phlebotomist

  • Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients ofall age groups with an emphasis on pediatric experience, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws(patients in long-term care facilities, drug rehabilitation facilities, prisons, psychiatric facilities, or similar facilities)

  • Good typing and data entry skills

  • Specimen Processing

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
