Our UT Health Athens hospital is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Laboratory Services where you will be responsible for:

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Collect blood specimens by venipuncture of capillary method or urine drug screens in a timely, effective manner using organization policies and procedures

  • Follow organization policies and procedures for proper identification of the patient and properly label all specimens at the bedside

  • Responds in an effective manner to priority collection needs. Organizes work in order to obtain acceptable turnaround time for collection of all priorities of specimens

  • Performs bedside testing procedures i.e. bleeding times, clotting times, therapeutic phlebotomies

Job Requirements


So what experience are we looking for in our Phlebotomists?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • One (1) year phlebotomy experience preferred

  • ASCP certification preferred
