Under the direction of the Director of Strategic Development, the Philanthropic Communications Coordinator is responsible for the support and execution of the overall communications strategy to meet the development, programmatic, administrative, and advocacy needs of the Salinas Valley Health Foundation. The Philanthropic Communications Coordinator will monitor marketing/communications analytics and create reports identifying successes and potential opportunities for digital and printed campaigns, and prepare staff, volunteers, and community members for media appearances and interviews. In addition, the Philanthropic Communications Coordinator is responsible for management of existing fundraising appeals, both through printed and digital collateral, as well as for the development of new media-driven fundraising opportunities.

As a key member of the Foundation team, the Philanthropic Communications Coordinator is essential to engaging and stewarding current and new donors through relevant content, thereby aiding in the cultivation of new relationships, and growth of fundraising revenue.

Philanthropic Communications Program Coordination:

  • Support and execute the overall communications strategy to meet the programmatic, administrative, policy, and advocacy needs of Salinas Valley Health Foundation.

  • Support content planning, including copy and graphics, utilizing communications tools and technology including but not limited to website design, social media platforms, e-newsletters, print materials, press releases, reports, presentations, multi-media tools, advertisements, etc.

  • Monitor analytics and create reports identifying the successes and opportunities of digital campaigns and strategies Instill best practices, follow brand standards, and maintain consistency across all channels of communication

  • Prepare staff, volunteers, and community members for media appearances and interviews with talking points

  • Develop and manage annual fundraising appeals, both through direct mail and digital outreach, and track performance data for metric reporting.

General Responsibilities:

  • Design and build out digital and physical presentation items for staff and board

  • Periodically attend Board and/or staff meetings to present on program progress, as well as general information about the Salinas Valley Health Foundation

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of Foundation events Participate in special projects as assigned, assuming responsibility for the end product

  • Models the highest level of professionalism as a fundraiser and leader.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education: High School diploma required. Undergraduate degree preferred.

Licensure: Valid California Driver's License required.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in marketing and communications required. Health care and/or fundraising communications experience preferred.

The hourly rate for this position is $33.26 - $41.58. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
