Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for supporting the systems and software related to Pharmacy technologies and backs up Staff Pharmacist as needed.
Implements upgrades and conversions, troubleshoots and reports errors of the Pharmacy Information System.
Implements, optimizes, troubleshoots, and reports errors of the medication automated systems.
Trains and acts as lead resource for all staff that use pharmacy technologies.
Assists with designing, implementing and maintaining software applications relating to medication administration.
Assumes role of Staff Pharmacist as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Experience in hospital pharmacy practice
Valid Minnesota Pharmacist licensure
Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of IV admixutre, unit doses, oncology, nutritional support and kinetic dosing
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
