New technicians are required to complete our extensive training program for Pharmacy Technicians and satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to your state's Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

Physical Demands

  • Standing / walking for an extended period of time.

  • Near vision; ability to see details at close range to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts

  • Wrist / finger speed; ability to make fast, simple, repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

  • Ability to push and pull objects, including drawers and other items of similar weight, as well as reaching overhead.

  • Ability to handle and work with small instruments and objects.

  • Bending/squatting/leaning to a considerable degree and requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

  • Is able to load and unload trays/cases/totes (30 pound maximum to a height of 4 feet).

  • Auditory attention; ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds.

  • Effective verbal communication; expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, especially when detailed or important instructions must be conveyed accurately.

  • Ability to move quickly from one task to another according to the needs of the pharmacy.

  • The ability to concentrate on a task for significant periods of time.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Licensure requirements vary by state. Learn more by visiting your state's Board of Pharmacy website or asking the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • National Certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program approved by specific state regulations (e.g. PTCB, ExCPT, etc.).

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).

VIEW JOBS 2/27/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-27T00:00 GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Business and Finance, the Coordinator for Pharmacy Analytics and Performance will create and drive optimal value through delivery of impactful analytics insights, data visualization and statistical analyses for the following pharmacy areas - operations management, clinical utilization, supply chain/inventory management, finance/revenue integrity, retail pharmacy, and research. The Coordinator and his/her direct reports will also participate in modeling and monitoring labor productivity, applying area and institutional specific metrics to optimize pharmacy operations, schedule coverage and labor efficiency. To assist in carrying out his/her responsibilities the Coordinator for Pharmacy Analytics and Performance hires, trains and manages data scientist FTEs. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator will create and lead a high-performing analytics program, using new technologies to develop and deliver an analytical vision that drives medication and pharmacy innovation across MGH and the MGH Department of Pharmacy. This position will have a direct impact on pharmacy operational efficiency, cost savings/revenue, and patient outcomes. The duties and responsibilities for this role include the following: * Create and maintain a comprehensive pharmacy data warehouse and coordinate of all the Department's medication and operations data streams * Lead data governance management on cost optimization and quality management including dashboard and KPI management, project recommendations and coordinates prioritization and resource deployment * Collaborate across MGH and at the Mass General Brigham system-level in developing a pharmacy analytics and value program * Utilize computer science and quantitative skills to extract maximum value from MGH Pharmacy Department data assets and Mass General and Brigham data warehouse * Incorporate data science concepts (e.g., regression modeling, time-series forecasting, classification, data clustering, time series forecasting, advanced machine learning techniques, Robotic Process Automation) * Utilize preferred statistical programming (SAS, R, Python) * Oversee, develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to facilitate pharmacy operations and maximize efficiencies across all MGH Department of Pharmacy segments * Develop a deep understanding of pharmacy data and processes as well as serve as SME and data steward for others in the use and application of our pharmacy data * Structure and lead analytical strategy and develop analytical road-maps plans to meet both short and long term needs for all MGH Department of Pharmacy stakeholders * Provide statistical analysis and longitudinal analysis of pharmacy data to help meet MGH Department of Pharmacy strategic goals * Build robust outcomes-based pharmacy research capabilities to ensure successful and sustained implementation of innovations in practice * Provide consultative and analytical support including design, implementation, coordination, and data querying to support patient outcome, operations, and financial improvement work * Develop cross departmental and institutional analytical goals to utilize data analysis and report pharmacy outcomes * Understand and participate in Mass General Brigham enterprise initiatives that includes data and business intelligence solutions * Develop mechanisms to enhance data integrity and support development of such as needed SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Experience using integrated EHR system (Epic, Cerner, etc.) * Knowledge of contemporary hospital pharmacy systems * Effective interpersonal and communication skills * Excellent Analytical skills * Excellent knowledge in reporting and business intelligence data visualization tools such as Tableau * Ability to work well on a team * Problem identification and solving skills * Effective writing and editing skills * Critical thinking and decision-making skills * Ability to deal with emergencies and stressful situations * Ability to motivate and lead others * Ability to meet deadlines * Ability to clearly communicate expectations to staff and hold staff accountable when necessary LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable): EDUCATION: * Advanced degree (BS Pharm/PharmD, MBA, or PhD/MS in field relating to data and analytics) required.
