Works in conjunction with the Pharmacy Manager in the various activities involving the daily direct supervision of technician functions including but not limited to workflow, call-in, scheduling, automation management and quality process within the pharmacy.
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, oversee operations and coordinate workflow of the pharmacy department.
Ensure that all work is completed accurately, in a timely manner, and staged for delivery.
Assist in interviewing and hiring of pharmacy employees.
Conduct pharmacy orientation and training program to pharmacy staff.
Assist in scheduling and evaluation of pharmacy technicians.
Ensure appropriate staffing during call-ins, inclement weather, or periods of increased workload.
Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed by pharmacy staff.
Assist pharmacy buyer on inventory control and management activities.
Ensure that all packaging equipment and automation is properly maintained.
Monitor workflow and all quality assurance processes for pharmacy.
Assist with development and evaluation of departmental standard operating procedures.
Handle all administrative and disciplinary actions according to company policy.
Evaluate and review associate performance daily, and prepare annual reviews.
Ensure all customer calls are answered in an accurate and efficient manner, while providing and achieving exceptional customer service.
Ensure adherence to all Board of Pharmacy, JCAHO, CMS and FDA standards.
Provide or coordinate any education needed by pharmacy staff.
Conduct regular meetings of pharmacy staff.
Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"
Personally perform any and all pharmacy technician duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager.
Supervise pharmacy technicians.
Interview, hire, and train employees.
Plan, assign, and direct work.
Appraise performance, and reward/discipline employees.
Address complaints, and resolve problems.
Promote and foster a professional, positive, dynamic team environment through exemplary leadership
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:
High school graduate or equivalent. At least three (3) years of previously effective supervisory or lead pharmacy technician experience. Prior Pharmacy Technician Experience in Hospital or Long Term Care. Must be comfortable using multiple software programs. Must be organized and possess effective time management skills.
Current New Jersey Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certification.
