Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Center for Medication Safety.
As the Medication Safety Pharmacy Technician Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and effective medication practices within our organization. You will play a key role in the Center for Medication Safety in delivering the technical aspects of our safety agenda across the system. Our scope extends beyond pharmacy to wherever and whenever medications are ordered/prescribed, dispensed, and administered at IU Health. You will be involved in medication incident coding and assist in investigating trends and root causes. The Center for Medication Safety works with local med safety teams to cascade system efforts to the local level and escalate local best practices or concerns to the rest of the system. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and safety.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in medication safety, preferably with substantial experience in pharmacy practice. The ideal candidate should also understand project management, regulatory compliance, and medication governance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with various healthcare professionals and stakeholders. The ability to work as a team player is crucial.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree preferred.
0-3 years of relevant experience required.
Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License.
Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification.
Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
Requires working knowledge of pharmacy operations
May require rotation of weekend call.
May require travel to system pharmacies.
