Heres how this role performs at Shepherd:

Your team and patients will depend on you to compound, mix, charge and deliver I.V. admixtures to the patient population. You will also be responsible for performing standard pharmacy technician duties,i.e. , filling and delivering stock to Pyxis consoles, etc.

This multifaceted job will give you the opportunity to collaborate with all departments in the Center in order to provide the best patient care.

Georgia Phramacy Technician Licensure is required. Three (3) years of experience in the position of Pharmacy and/or IV Admixture Technician at an acute care facility is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year working in hospital IV rooms.

SUMMARY Pharmacy Technician must be competent in assisting a licensed pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions for Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric patients. Enters prescription information into the computer system (in a conditional status for pharmacist verification) and performs cashiering functions when needed. Performs restocking of automated dispensing systems and documents all information required for Quality Control purposes, as assigned. Returns to stock and documents all medications not dispensed. Orders, maintains & organizes appropriate inventory to support dispensing activities. Assist in orientation of newly hired technicians, as assigned. Assist pharmacists, as needed, to assure productivity and operational efficiencies. Provide patients with outstanding customer service and assistance.
