Pharmacy Technician

Refills and replenishes prescription requests in an automated central fill pharmacy setting. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares packages and distributes medications in a fast-paced production environment. Maintains continuous, consistent work flow in order to meet daily production goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Operates and manipulates automated machinery as trained to assemble prescriptions as required 20%
• Reads computer generated screens to find indicated merchandise on labeled shelves, verify name and strength of the product before selecting order 10%
• Performs cleaning of all assigned workstations and surrounding areas 5%
• Counts or pours pharmaceuticals 5%
• Places pharmaceutical products in appropriate containers and affixes labels to containers 5%
• Replenishes drug canisters for dispensing 5%
• Assists in resolving prescription dispensing discrepancies 5%
• Assists with swapping full and empty drug canisters to and from the automation machinery 5%
• Monitors prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals 5%
• Maintains the floor in a clean and orderly condition 5%
• Assists in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory 5%

qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 6 months of Pharmacy Experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

• PTCB Certificate preferred
• NJ Pharmacy Technician Registration in active status or applied for within 10 days of hire required
