Pharmacy Technician

We're currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our Cheshire, Connecticut Pharmacy. We're a closed-door pharmacy that focuses primarily on long term care.

Position: Pharmacy Technician Location: Cheshire, Connecticut Pharmacy (ON-SITE)

Salary: $15.75 to $19 an hour (Depending on experience)

Available Shifts: We're hiring for convenient shifts from 12 PM to 8:30 PM and 3:30 PM to 12 AM

Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a crucial role in our daily operations. From entering prescriptions to consulting with pharmacists, your contributions will make a difference. We're looking for responsible professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and excel at multitasking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive prescriptions via phone or in-person

• Accurately fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision

• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycling/disposing as per procedure

• Help prepack frequently ordered medications and label them accordingly

• Package materials and products manually

• Maintain workstation areas and restock supplies as needed

• Adhere to all applicable regulations including HIPAA

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Pharmacy Technician license preferred, but not required

Skills and Abilities:

• 1-2 years minimum experience as a pharmacy technician

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Effective communication skills

• Quick and independent learner

• Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, and weekends

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

• Knowledge of Pharmacy law and medical terminology (a plus)

• Completion of a pharmacy technician program (not required, but a plus)

• Pharmacy technician certification (a plus)
