As a Pharmacy Technician at Omnicare you will:

Work in an environment where the highest professional and ethical standards are maintained as well as full compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.

Work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates compassionate, genuine care for patients and customers

Take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients and they demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Work within assigned pharmacy workstations, to safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions all while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations. Workstations include:

  • Cycle Fill, EKit, Medical Records, Picking

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law.

Successfully complete a background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

Prior long term health care experience

Education

Verifiable High School Diploma or GED is required

Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent 1 year experience in health care setting Pharmacy Technician in Illinois or Michigan (dependent on location of employment) Must obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months of hire. Working knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Working knowledge of arithmetic calculations at a level normally acquired through completion of high school. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1 year pharmacy experience Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
